Incorrect addresses

On the other side I've often checked addresses that looked incomplete that were not. I'm often surprised that anyone in Republic of Ireland ever receive anything, some of their addresses must require magic to get them there..0

Hotel employee having it delivered at work because they spend all daytime hours there? Don't have a regular home address - or one where neighbours will steal/keep/refuse parcels? My OH wondered if the hotel themselves were buying, but this is not something I can imagine a hotel chain needing at all, and also I assume they would use an easily identified buying account.I need to think of something new here...0 -

Maybe that is the correct address.0 -
Maybe that is the correct address.
As stated above, when a buyer comes back with a fuller address with some details added, they pretty much admits the address was wrong or incomplete.
I spent about 20 mins on google maps street view and googling the business name and neither the missing road name nor the business seemed to exist. In this case, eBay did a non fault reimbursement to the customer to close the matter, I think because the seller wasn't responding but had admitted the address was wrong. I can't guarantee this for any seller though - eBay can see I'm making repeated attempts to try and resolve issues like this.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Well if you were a hotel employee for an enormous hotel would you not want to put your name on the parcel, I certainly would, I'm not sure how else the person taking in post for the hotel will know who to hand it to.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. What I don't get is why Ebay don't simply do what many of the large online retailers do and simply have a box in which you put your postcode and it then gives you all the addresses in that postcode to pick your address from!0

Because it costs money.
This was talked to death on the Powerseller board of eBay community boards and they simply don't have the time/money/inclination to get it on each eBay site. One of the blues (Hannah?) had suggested it would never happen because the powers that be want the site to be the same in each country and not many have address verification in the country let alone available on a site.
You have to remember it wasn't long ago that Ireland adopted postal codes for their addresses - and they are some of the vaguest of addresses known to man!0
