N Power

Hi I need some guidance, I was with NPower way back in 2012 and I left moved house and I paid all my bills I was sure it was all fine and joined British Gas. Skip forward I entered a DRO in 2013 and left successful in 2014 and then January 2015 I received a letter from NPower saying I owed them 600 pounds final bill from my old address which I thought was all settled. I called and asked how and why this wasn't brought to me sooner and was just passed around and I couldn't even get a break down of the bill. After calling and saying that they were in fault and I read on here if there was no contact and it was the suppliers fault then they should clear the balance. I received a cheque in the post and a letter of apology nothing else. Then in 2016 another year passed I received a debt collector letter saying my account was passed to them . Here we go again went and called them went to CAB the works and got no response but then I get another apology letter and saying they were looking into this and then random another cheque but the account is still at 545 pounds as I found out this week when my account was passed on to another debt collector. These debt collector have different information to my records and letters and NPower are saying that they tried to contact me on multiple occasions.nif any letters were sent to my current or old address I would of received them as my mum lives in my old house I moved out. Now I don't know what to do I don't want to pay for something I thought was already paid off and if I was told in adequate time I could of put in my DRO and I'm more annoyed at how lax NPower are they don't write letters just send debt collectors is there anything I can do to stop this and get NPower to close my account as they are on the wrong and are causing me stress. Also how can they not provide me a break down of how the account got 600 pounds in arrears when I was paying monthly direct debit?
