    Are you thinking deprivation of assets for your half? That'll depend on factors such as how old you are, your health, how soon you might potentially need care, and whether you could fund that from your remaining savings and assets.

    Deprivation of assets is not against the law, but it can cause problems if a family member has possession of the "asset".
