Hi all..
Please can someone help me I've had an escape of water in my property and my insurance have passed my claim to Cunningham Lindsey I've had one of there loss adjuster out, and basically what there offering me to replace my whole kitchen, redecoration, flooring and a new bathroom cabinet is ridiculous it's just under 4K, that wouldn't even cover the cost of the kitchen I don't understand how they come up with there figures I'm really not happy with this and thIs is my first and only ever claim in this situation and I just don't know what to do. Can anyone give me any advice on where to go with this?
Thanks

Have you followed the advice given in your other thread?0

Yes I have thanks. But this now a separate issue that was just some contents that was damaged due to flood. Now this is like the offer for my whole claim.0

As before... ask them how they got to that calculation.
And as posted on the other thread; you're most likely only entitled to replacement of damaged units/contents items. They should offer a contribution to undamaged items if you can't match the damaged ones any more.0 -
They may be offering what it would cost them for their contractor to do the work. They will have negotiated a reduced rate with the contractor due to the volume of work they give them.
Also, are you adequately insured? if you are underinsured then any payout will be reduced accordingly.0 -
I'm not under insured I'm actually over insured this is what my loss adjuster told me. And they've said I'm entitled to a full kitchen replacement and everything I've said above in my first comment, what I'm getting at is that amount will not cover everything also. They will not tell me anything about there contractors unless I agree to there work? But how can I agree to something I have no information I feel like there trying to pressure me into using there contractors because I'm a single parent with 3 young children. Something is not right about there whole offer and I don't understand how there able to justify it truce missed several things off my claim aswell.0

Who are you insured with?
Most policies won't cover a full kitchen replacement unless every part of it is damaged beyond repair.
If they are offering to use their own contractors then ask for a schedule of works, which will detail exactly what work they are planning to do.0
