It will never happen. Even if Corbyn gets into Downing Street, the Germans and French who own most of our utility companies would not permit renationalisation...assuming Corbyn wants to remain in the single market.

Corbyn doesn't want to remain in the single market, he has always been a Eurosceptic, basically for that reason, he doesn't like that the EU could get involved in industrial policy, (state aid, etc.)

With regards to the original question, it is a real risk but of course the complete unknown is how likely is it that Corbyn will get into power anyway. I wouldn't necessarily be reading too much into a Labour lead of 1-2 points on a poll of polls basis at this stage in the electoral cycle, especially given we have no idea as to who will be leading the Tories into the next election.

I'm not sure either have the support in the parliamentary party to get to the final 2 that goes to the members, I suspect it will end up being a Eurosceptic and non Eurosceptic that goes to the members and the Eurosceptic will be the one that wins.

My feeling would be that someone like Davis probably has more parliamentary support than either Boris of Rees Mogg (hence the briefing against Davis from certain Boris allies), but he could well be hurt by the Brexit negotiations don't deliver what people expect, I'm not sure what other options the Tories have to be honest, not too aware of who is in the next tier of candidates down, a Eurosceptic up and comer who is moderate on other issues would probably be their ideal, but would need some ministerial experience by the time the leadership election comes around.

You should note that an energy price cap is Conservative policy.
Energy price cap is just populist talk - like Boris promises the impossible from Brexit to get himself elected.
They can't cap electricity prices if it stays privatised because they need to persuade the energy companies to invest in enough spare fired-up power stations to keep the lights on cold winter nights when demand is highest with no sun for solar, and no wind for wind power.
