Boiler Replacement + power flush

Hi guys,
I live in Greater London (Hayes, zone 5) and have had a quote for a replacement boiler and system powerflush of £1,500, including all parts and labour.
The proposed replacement boiler is a Main 25 combi boiler, replacing our existing Sabre combi. The Sabre is old (we're not sure how old - came with the house and had been here at least 9 years, so minimum it's in its 12th year now but I suspect more like 15-20), and we now can't get the heating to come back on after a summer off. We were quoted £4-600 to solve that problem, but no one was willing to guarentee work or price because of the age of the boiler.
So - does £1,500 in London for this job sound fair?
Thanks,
Laura

It sounds a little cheap.
Most people on here seem to be being quoted 3k plus for a boiler change and flush.
Not heard of the boiler but does it have a 7 year warranty as lots now do?0 -
No - boiler has a two year warranty. We've had three quotes now - £1,500; £1,550; and £1,675 - another one due tomorrow but gave the ballpark of £1,500 also.
So they are all agreeing with each other... but that sounds cheap?Museum worker who'd rather be in the garden.0 -
We paid £600 for a powerflush in essex 2 years ago and that was quite a good price at the time0

Is that labour only or supplying the boiler aswell?0

Main are the cheaper arm of well known Baxi Group boiler manufacturers, the Main 25 & 30 is workhorse boiler and is installed in mainly buy to lets for a reason, its because they are quite reliable.
Every boiler is as good as the install, i think this price includes a straight swop and a chemicial flush to meet installation requirements. Make sure it is benchmarked and u get a building control cert as part of the process. Also the boiler should come with a 5 year warranty.
