Quite a large gap 215 cm wide and 210 cm tall. Would go for cheapest option french doors? But would I need side windows to prevent too much weight on the doors?

It depends on the door you go for?
Im presuming PVC as the cheapest option which really should not be affected by weight issues if built with sufficient depth0 -
Yes, sorry, should have said definitely PVC as by far it's cheaper.
I assume French doors are the cheapest option?0 -
I think (i might be wrong), but the widest door you can get for bifolds is 1200mm each door, so it may be the same for french doors. Look on the popular auction site for ideas, we recently sold a set of french doors on there, nothing wrong with them, they were 1.6m wide i think, just needed a really good clean. the guy who bought them saved about £500 by buying them from us0

Probably get them wider if only half glazed, it is the weight of the glass on the hinges. Do you have to have a double door ? Single quite wide door with glazed fixed panel ?0

I've been quoted £1050 but that is for a double glazed double door. Perhaps I need to insist on a glass panel so there's not too much weight on the hinges.0

I got a set of French doors in aluminium 2160mm (w) x 2450mm (h) from ukbifold last year for £1550 + VAT.0
