Hi sorry if In the wrong place but it is a tech question sort of.
I now have Android pay on my phone an s7 with Norton MS is there anything I need to know about this Android pay.
I have the NFC bit turned off and will only turn it on when I use the pay thing, I also have the phone locked with my finger print.
Thanks

  • nope sounds like you have it all set up ok. it's a lot better to use phone instead of contactless card as you get a receipt and paper trail on your phone.

don't know about your phone but my note 3 has the nfc antenna built into the battery so you need to buy genuine batteries otherwise your nfc/android pay won't work

Samsung pay doesn't support the coop bank yet so can't use that.

Usually the phone screen needs to be active for Android Pay to work. Therefore leaving NFC active should be safe. Whilst it doesn't hurt to turn in on/off as required (e.g. for battery saving), it's not essential to do so. :)

Samsung Pay? Never heard of it. I do have the Barclaycard app on my phone which also allows for contactless payments, but I prefer to use Android Pay anyway ... you can assign any number of cards to it and decide which card to use for any given payment (just change the default card prior to making the payment).

  • I'm having good experience with Android Pay. I've set the phone to unlock on my fingerprint, so I unlock it just before presenting the phone to the Pay terminal. I leave NFC turned on - no battery issue. I get a message and a receipt for every transaction on the phone (unlike Contactless card). It's all good, and it's one less thing to carry. I use it for most routine small retail transactions.
