Shocking House Price Increases

  • In Shropshire the prices properties are being put onto the market for are ludicrous, have no idea where EA are getting prices from.
For example a property went on market yesterday for 200k that sold in 2011 for 155k and the sellers haven't done anything to the property!

Sold my last house in 2013 and saw it was sold on again about 2 years later. It had gone up tens of thousands of £s (starter terrace house) in my expensive Home City.:(

In current area (West Wales) I don't think there has been much house price inflation at all on the house I bought here in 2013:(. It is worth noticeably more - but that seems to be only because of all the money I have spent on work on it and I couldnt even get back what the house cost me + what I've spent on it.

At least it hasnt come as an unexpected "bolt from the blue" to realise point 2 (ie re house here) - as I did think I'd probably have that downside happening:(. Houses here just don't seem to be rising much in price - it's a bit remote here and there is another reason causing employers not to be too keen on starting up here for last few years/dont know how many future years - here in West Wales.............which causes some of them to think twice in case of a problem a lot less likely in the rest of the country (even in the rest of the Welsh part of the country).
  • It's bonkers in East Yorkshire (East Riding is where I am) - Brexit uncertainty, pending interest rate hikes, whatever else and people are paying whatever they need to to get the property. I'd say, whilst we've been keeping an eye on the property market for the last 12 months, I've seen at least a 10% increase, up to 15%... so not the 25% you're talking about but a bit crazy nonetheless
  • My part of greater Manchester seems very active and house prices In some areas of the market seem to have risen. Houses ( including the one we bought) are sstc within days.

Why on earth did you move to Wales? You are constantly moaning about it. Leave?

Things trundle along quietly in my non tourist-orientated part of Devon.

Houses come on at optimistic prices, stick around, then fall to a sensible level, but then nothing much happens suddenly here, except rain..

Prices pretty flat, unlike the scenery!

It's feels like it's slowing down a bit in Cornwall within the lower end of the market, and have noticed a few have bounced back onto the market after being SSC, not sure if that's down to people acting very quickly to secure properties then rejecting them at survey or problems with securing finance.I seem to have the same 200ish houses in my 15mile area since beginning of June with very little being added or removed, the 200k+ bracket still very fluid but a lot of that is down to people relocating into the area.

    Crashyman...

    Crashyman.... .....

    Crashyman..... ......

Let the wailing horrorist loose on this thread! Blood will flow, many prophecies of doom will follow. Then....

... Reality will kick in, most will realise some prices up, while some are down. Crashy will return to the underworld, to be called again at a later date.
