Elastic laces

Hi all, now winter's approaching I'd like to be able to wear doc marten style boots, but there's no way I could manage the laces. Does anyone have elastic laces and would they work on boots? I've tried googling but all I can find is info on using them in walking/hiking boots where the purpose is for them to be flexible, not for use as disability aids.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

What do you struggle with? Is the just the tieing (sp) of the laces?
I have some of these for my son https://www.amazon.co.uk/Phoenix-Fit-UK-generation-lifestyles/dp/B01DMSIROM/ref=sr_1_5?s=shoes&ie=UTF8&qid=1506265694&sr=1-5&nodeID=355005011&psd=1&keywords=no+tie+laces
He can't tie laces but is able to use these, they do need me to adjust them even now and again to make sure they don't come lose.
The other option is these https://www.amazon.co.uk/Homar-Durable-Kids-Sports-Shoelaces/dp/B0186Z4Y5M/ref=sr_1_15?s=shoes&ie=UTF8&qid=1506265694&sr=1-15&nodeID=355005011&psd=1&keywords=no+tie+laces
but I am not sure they would be suitable for boots.0 -
have a google of lock laces, (you'd need the boot length ones) they're what a lot of trainers and some mid height walking boots use. You'd need to pull the toggle rather than tie the laces, I'm just very cack handed but much prefer these in my trainer boots0

It's mainly having to pull the laces tight that I find hard - so with docs you have to do it 8+ times, once for each pair of eyelets. Tying them is sometimes a problem but I can just wear other shoes on those days.
Thinking about it some more they probably wouldn't work with higher boots, only shoes, just because of how loose the leg bit would have to be to get my foot all the way in.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
do the docs you're thinking of have eyes or hooks in the top few?0

I don't have a specific pair in mind - it'll be what I can find cheap on ebay so after a quick look it seems they're all holes and not hooks.
Great question I hadn't thought about that!Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Stumbled across these on amazon, https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dr-Martens-Womens-Pascal-Classic/dp/B01MTDGSWC/ref=cts_sh_1_vtp?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_p=1212178027&pf_rd_r=RCNMS2Z5TSAPW1FDB2D4&pd_rd_wg=lo1lN&pf_rd_s=desktop-detail-softlines&pf_rd_t=40701&pd_rd_i=B01MTDGSWC&pd_rd_w=m34wc&pf_rd_i=desktop-detail-softlines&pd_rd_r=RCNMS2Z5TSAPW1FDB2D4&_encoding=UTF8 I am the least girly girl but I quite like them.
I'll have a think, think there is a different lock lace type thing too0 -

In that case unfortuntaley I don't think the ones I linked to would be workable for you.
Do they have to be doc martins or will a simular style boot be ok? I have seen boots that have the look of laces but you put them on and off by a zip at the side. simular to this https://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/womens-red-wing-side-zip-biker-boots-black?a=692653
Or there is these http://www.drmartens.com/uk/p/womens-boots-aunt-sally-sinclair as long as you can aford the extra mortage to pay for them :eek:0 -
Thanks. I was thinking docs because they're good quality and supportive as I've been having trouble with my feet. I'm waiting for a referral to a podiatrist to go through so I suppose I should wait and see what they see before buying any new footwear anyway.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
