. I find colourful pots cheer up the garden even in the depths of winter and good quality ones will survive the frost and last for years.

Lovely pots, HHoD. Is that wildflower creeper growing up your wall toadflax? It looks like the plant which grew in the cracks of the garden wall at my old house. It could be a bit of a spreader, but was pretty with its little pink flowers. I kept a section of wall where it was allowed to grow & it did blend in nicely. It's funny how we divide into 'weeds' & 'non weeds' sometimes. I remember showing a friend round our garden when we'd just moved in. She pointed to something & said 'Well that can come out'. I said 'Oh no it won't - that' s a foxglove'......she said 'Exactly! It's a weed. It' ll spread & you'll have them all over'...... to which my reply was 'Good, because they're such a lovely native wild flower'. I guess the old adage about one person's trash being another person's treasure also extends to plants!
Like you, I can't wait to get out there.

F x. I don't know what the plant is that grows in the wall. It does have pretty pink flowers BUT it's making the cement between the bricks crumble and making the bricks loose and I'm worried the wall will fall down, so I try my best to get rid of it. It's certainly grows prolifically in any crack it can get hold of though. I agree that some so called 'weeds' can be nice. My stepdad thinks bluebells are weeds as they self seed a lot but I love bluebells.
