  • Love the bug house Hairy, I've got badgers that visit my garden but I've only seen them twice, I only know they visit regularly because they dig the grass up every time. I don't plant bulbs anymore because of that reason. The closest I got to them was when I discovered two in my chicken run, they had to run right past me to get out and frightened me to death 😀😀I put some meal worms out that evening and they both came back so me and DD watched them for a good half an hour, it was an amazing thing to see
Thanks OBL 🙂. I'm looking forward to painting it and then I need to nag DH to hang it on the fence.

I hope you don't mind that badgers have hijacked your diary, HH.  I'm glad I mentioned my experience of them though as there have been some lovely posts with lots if useful information. So many of you have seen badgers recently, I was really surprised how common they are.  I doubt I'll see 'mine' again as I sleep like a log normally and am not likely to be up looking through the window in the dead of night again for a while.  The last time was because of raging toothache (can't get a dental appointment anywhere at the moment) and the painkillers had worn off.  Didn't want to take any more at that point, I'd pretty much ODed already  so I went downstairs for a cuppa. If I drink it carefully it seems to help somehow.  Maybe just makes me relaxed..

I still put badger type food out just before bedtime each night and it's always gone by the time I getup at 6 so I hope it's them that are enjoying it.  I read that they like wet catfood and I have 6 tins of supermarket own brand that my picky cats won't eat so I've been putting that out for the badgers   I know hedgehogs  eat that but I doubt they are out of hibernation yet.

Maybe they  recently appeared because the hard frozen ground made their usual foraging territory difficult.  As they've already polished off the fallen apples they must have been desperate for other food.
I don't mind a bit of badger hijacking Fidelia 🙂. Sadly the only wildlife I get in my garden are magpies, crows, seagulls and the neighbourhood cats 🤣. The cats are my favourite visitors as I love moggies 🐈 🐱. Actually we did used to get blackbirds and robins nesting in our hedge sometimes, but now that our hedge is no more I'm hoping a nesting box will encourage them to return 🦅 🕊. Also my new bug hotel will hopefully encourages solitary bees and ladybirds 🐝 🐞 .

Dwarf narcissus and lavender in my garden. I'm trying to get a spring vibe :)

My spring bulbs. Ignore the expanse of ugly wall in the background 🙄.

Lovely flowers, the other will be blooming in time for when you can have morning coffee in the garden.
Thanks Parky 🙂. I can't wait to be able to have coffee in the garden again. DH and I said we'd still do it in the winter, but we haven't been able to because it's been either soggy and rainy or absolutely freezing cold. But hopefully spring will be a bit drier and we can get back out there.

  • Gorgeous pots, especially the lavender one. That's quite a display, and it'll only get better as the weather improves
