Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

We went to a huge Mr T this morning which is a bit of a further drive away as I fancied a change from the Mr M round the corner. We're getting an online delivery on Friday so it was just to get a few things to tide us over until then, plus we're very short of plates and cutlery and they have a very good kitchen section there. So I bought six white dinner plates for £2.50 each, two white side plates for £2 each and two white bowls for £2 each. I always get white crockery as the food looks nice on them plus it's easier to match them when we have breakages. I also bought a set of Vnrs cutlery for £20 (four of each). It's very similar to our existing cutlery and will save us running out of clean knives every five minutes.
I enjoyed going somewhere different to shop and it felt like a nice outing, which is very sad really 🤣. How low my expectations are during this lockdown if I can get excited about going to a different supermarket 😒.
When I was paying I remembered that DH has lost our Clubcard so I couldn't get any points 😡. So I rang Mr T when I got home to request a new one. I also checked that we're getting our points when we do an online order (which we are). I also discovered that we have £59 worth of Clubcard points 👏👏👏. We used to swop them for restaurant vouchers, but we may just knock some money off our next food shop as we can't go to restaurants at the moment.
DH has been looking at his credit file online and he's only got four defaults now. He had six originally so two of them have dropped off 😀. Three more will drop off by November 2021 and then he'll only have one default on his credit file. I had four defaults on my credit file originally and all four of them will drop off in 2021 😀. It only matters if you want a loan or a mortgage (which we don't) but it will be nice to have an unblemished credit file soon 🙂.
I'm pleased with myself for ringing Mr T to request the new clubcard and for updating ourselves on our credit file defaults 😀. This is what holidays are useful for, sorting out niggly financial jobs that I can't face doing when I'm working.
I'm going to relax for the rest of the day now as it's raining ☁️🌧☔ and getting dark really quickly due to the gloomy weather, so I feel like hibernating again.
I hope everyone in Forumland is having a relaxing or a productive day, or both 🙂.

I’m glad you’ve had a productive day. We don’t have a Mr T that sells home wares near us sadly. Our local big Mr T is not really that big but I do get quite excited about going there once a week for a change of scenery 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Your trip to the big Tesco sounds exciting. I’ve been trying to do a different supermarket every now and then. I want to go to Sainsbobs next week - mainly to see if they have any summery smock style tops coming in. I’ve bought a few tops in Morrison’s over the last month so my wardrobe is looking a little more healthy and I can wear clothes that look respectable again 😂😂January spends - £587.585

If you will be going back to Tesco you can take your receipt to customer services and they will put you points you earned into to you card.5

I had a lovely surpise in the post today from a very kind and generous forum friend 😀. You know who you are and thank you very very much. I wasn't expecting it at all. It's such a kind gesture and just what I wanted 😀.
