Glad you survived the day. I hope they’re not taking advantage of you because you’re so amenable. Enjoy a well earned rest.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

The trouble with staffing is that three MTAs are shielding relatives they live with and two of them have nobody to look after their children, so there's only three of us that are going in at lunchtimes even within the rota system.
All teacher and TAs are back in school from 1st June, so no more rota. I'm assuming that applies to MTAs too. But there's going to be a strict limit on the numbers of children in each class and it's going to be a lot less than the 15 per class the government suggested. I'm not sure how they will decide which children can come, but I suppose not all parents will want to send their children anyway.
I wouldn't be surprised if your head calls you in for regular TA work if your school reopens in June. I assume the school will continue having the children of key workers to cope with as well as Reception and Year Ones Even if there are enough current TAs to cover all groups your head might feel happier with the security of an extra pair of reliable hands in school each day.5 -
Thanks everyone
.
I've been forgetting to mention that DH and I had to log in to our personal tax accounts to check our eligibility for the government help for self-employed people. It said we were eligible and we've had letters too now. But anyway while I was in there I was able to check my state pension situation and apparantly I've got 29 years of full national insurance contributions which is a lot more than I expected 😀. I must have worked for more years than I thought. So I only have to pay another six years of contributions and I'll have a full state pension 🙂.
In a few days time DH and I should be able to claim the government grant for self-employed people, which is good because the EF is going down fast even with the mortgage holiday. I don't know how quickly it will come and I hope the claim is successful.
I had an email from NP0wer and they want to reduce our monthly payments and seem to think we're in credit. But I don't believe them as I haven't sent them a meter reading for months. So I took meter readings and submitted them today. In a few days I'll find out whether we really are in credit. It seems to good to be true so I dont' believe if for a minute 🙄.

It's possible that I may be needed for TA cover and I hope so. It's very much a wait and see game at the moment.

I agree with Delichon. We are needing a small amount of people more because we have not enough staff. So many of them are shielding that we just couldn't operate without bringing in the same staff all the time so hopefully that will be the same for you.
Great news about the self employment and hopefully the gas and electricity bill does go down from what you are paying. I agree though, that I would wait and see. x

Great news about the 29 years of full NI contributions although I recall you saying you hadn't had a paid job for years before you started your current one. I wonder how the 29 years of contributions accrued. I hope they haven't but do you think they've made a mistake in their calculations?
Keeping everything crossed for some Government help for your business and good news from nPower. If you really are in credit and haven't arrears to pay off any more you'll be able to switch providers and save yourselves a fortune in the future.5
