Who receives someone's penasion if they die intestate

I am one of the beneficiaries of the estate of a family member who died intestate. They also had a company pension and I am trying to clarify who should receive any payment due on death from the pension. If they had nominated someone as the beneficiary then clearly that would be straightforward, but we don't believe that is the case, or its likely any nominated person may have died. If there is no living nominated person, then who receives any money? If it is the same beneficiaries as through the intestacy rules, is it divided in the same proportions as intestacy dictates, or are all beneficiaries treated equally?

It will not usually fall into the estate. You would have to ask the pesion provider as they are the ones who choose.I am one of the beneficiaries of the estate of a family member who died intestate. If this is a active final salary company pension, then no one will get it unless the deceased had a wife or dependant children.0

Was the family member already in receipt of their pension? Is it a money purchase or defined benefit scheme? Was the family member married?
So many questions, I'm afraid.0
