In my MSE credit club experian report it says:
Equifax shows on the same date: HDD-PRICE COMPARISON-BARCLAYCARD
Nothing on call credit.
I do recall receiving a letter from Barclaycard at some point inviting me to apply for their card which I ignored (I have a bank account with them). Though seems Virgin are MBNA?
I haven't applied for this card - does this mean that someone has tried to apply in my name?Searches that do NOT impact your Credit Score

Does this mean that these companies don't need your permission to do a soft search?0 -

It sounds like you may have used a comparison tool to get quotes. If you're registered for Credit Club or have used our independant eligibility tool, you'll see these soft searches recorded on your file. Soft searches don't affect your score.0
