Last year I had some shares in Broadcom, held with Interactive Investor. When Broadcom merged with Avago, Interactive Investor took from my account 'US withholding tax' on the cash I received in redemption for my Broadcom shares. I am still trying to recover the tax ...

Sorry no but it's a good reminder of the advantages of holding investments in fund wrappers and making the fund managers work for their fees.0
