Gladstone Solicitors Small Claims Track

Any help would be appreciated. I parked with my 4 month baby last October in a private car park in a business centre to see my accountant, he had given me a permit but I did not realise that I had actually parked in the wrong colour bay and received a parking fine.
I have now received a letter from Gladstone Solicitors, the original 4 weeks ago to which I responded offering them a counter offer. Since then I have received a second letter, see below.
TAKE THAT NOTICE
It appears that this case is suitable for allocation to the small claims track
If you believe that this track is not the appropriate track for the claim, you must complete box C1 on the small claims directions questionnaire (Form N180) and explain why.
Any help would be appreciated with a response and how to respond. Should I disagree and say I should mediate or go to small claims court?

Is that really what it says, is this a real claims form ?
Or is it typical scary letter
You have already tried to mediate with them and
Gladstones failed.
Face to face with a judge in court is the only answer
Gladstones Solicitors cannot be trusted as they proved time
and time again that they are not ethical and their trading
practice is terrible
Couple this with incompetence, Gladstones don't live up to
the standard of being professional

Which parking company please? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Thank you - I will reply - they want me to pay £258 for the fine, I'm just a little worried that I will end up paying more in court :-(0

It's not a fine. If this is a single ticket it won't cost you more in court. Max likely to be £175 - £200 if you lose. Win, and you could be taking them for £100+.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. The worry I have about going to court is that I think they sent letters about this but I didn't respond at the time. I don't have those letters unfortunately so am uncertain about what evidence they have. Would I be presented with the evidence if I went to court?0

And also I'm pretty sure I had a pass on my dashboard but can't be 100% as it was so long ago.0

Have you received court papers from the Northampton CCBC. Have you acknowledged them?
