If he's charging you for disposal say you'll get rid of it yourself.
Facebook / ebay advert will have people very interested in it0 -
Do it and do it soon. Mine started leaking and (fortunately I have a friend in the business who agreed to an immediate start) just as he was loosening the nut on the olive on the bottom pipe, the cylinder wall gave way and, had we not already put down towels, the outpouring of water would have caused more damage than it did.0

^^^ as per le-kirk
and others as the plumber is probably right, experience iallif corrosion is seen and there is a weep. You may well weep if you have a flood!
As posted above cylinders are now quite expensive depending on various factors and the plumbers costs will depend on how much work is involved and where you live. As per the advice get quotes but bear in mind the plumber has already been out to visit and done the diagnosis for you!! Prices posted about seem reasonable, unfortunately.0 -

I'm not sure £20 is a good chunk of cash tbhI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
Most companies use the scrap money to pay for disposable of all the waste. If you keep the cylinder I’m sure your quote will go up.0
