6 months abroad travel insurance

Has anyone advice about best travel insurance for 'Swallows' ie we spend 6 months abroad then 6 months in UK.
My husband is age 63 myself 57 none of us have pre exisitng conditions.
I especially want advice re conflicting information form various insurers that we have to be at least 6 months in UK but noone can clarify whether this must be 6 months consecutive months or 6 months in last 12 months.
Usually we are away for 5 to 6 months back in UK for 4- 5 months then away again.
