MOT exemption for cars over 40 years old

Having owned MOT exempt cars in the past and having one that fits the new regulation I suspect there will be a surge in the purchase of certain vehicles / Log books because of this new exeption (Land Rovers ).
I have to say I am totally against it and rely on a second set of eyes on the ramp to let me know of issues I did not spot.0 -

That's long been rife anyway, not least because of £0 VED - it's slowed down since the Historic class went rolling again, rather than being fixed at 1973.0 -

You still get jokers on eBay trying to sell a 6" piece of rusty steel and a V5.
The tend to be removed pretty quickly when they are spotted and reported by the wider Land Rover community.0 -
Testing my series 1 (60 year old landy) at our local mot place was always a hoot.
Usually computer said no to the vehicle type and it was recorded as a Defender!!!
Always had to send minder usually my mechanic with it to educate the 'trained tester" as to what was testable on a vehicle of this age.
It always passed!
Then we would get down to fixing all the things that really needed doing...0 -
Got to book my series 3 88" in this week. Mind you, my local test centre specialises in classics and Landys, so...0
