Just got back from Aldi, as they say all 19p..... except taters 29p.
The white cabbages are the same size as in Tesco which they price at 33p.
Couldn't see any leeks .

Lots of leeks at ours on Wednesday. And lovely quality they were. Got a pack and made a pan of lovely leek and bacon soup yesterday. Hope I can get back for another pack before the offer ends. 19p is a brilliant price.

Best try around 9.00 am when they have started restocking. I got some yesterday quite early on

Steaming a lot now, freeze later, which meant I had to make room, so now also a big stew/soup to last several days. It's all go.

The garlic's a good price. I think I'll buy a couple of bags and freeze the individual cloves.

I was given a recipe for Lebanese Garlic Sauce years ago. Good for serving with barbecued or roasted meats or stirred into stews and curries.

For each 4 pack of garlic bulbs - peel and separate cloves and pound or mash/pur!e them with sea salt (say, a teaspoon for this quantity of garlic). Then drip in olive oil a bit at a time (as if you were making mayonnaise). Once you have got the consistency you want then add a generous dash of lemon juice. Store it in the fridge. Very nice but lethal i.e. antisocial if you have too much!
