Just got back from Aldi, as they say all 19p..... except taters 29p.
The white cabbages are the same size as in Tesco which they price at 33p.
Couldn't see any leeks .0 -
Lots of leeks at ours on Wednesday. And lovely quality they were. Got a pack and made a pan of lovely leek and bacon soup yesterday. I was given a recipe for Lebanese Garlic Sauce years ago. Good for serving with barbecued or roasted meats or stirred into stews and curries.
For each 4 pack of garlic bulbs - peel and separate cloves and pound or mash/pur!e them with sea salt (say, a teaspoon for this quantity of garlic). Then drip in olive oil a bit at a time (as if you were making mayonnaise). Once you have got the consistency you want then add a generous dash of lemon juice. Store it in the fridge. Very nice but lethal i.e. antisocial if you have too much!One life - your life - live it!0 -
