Should my appointee be understanding?

Can my appointee at social service forse me to use NHS provided incontince pads by refusing to give me the money for the ones I like because the NHS are providing ones already? Do you they have grounds to refuse me £130 a month for better ones even if I have the money? I'm too scared to ask them

Yes, your appointee should be understanding. They gave a duty to spend your money in your best interests, so providing that spending your money on better pads doesn't leave you short for even more basic necessities, such as rent, food and heating, they should buy you the better pads.

It's definitely worth asking them to do this.

Thank you tacpot12 for your advice. I emailed my appointee and it was easy, no questions asked and he's ordering them directly each month and I don't have to use the rubbish NHS ones.
