Video grabber to transfer BT Youview recordings to laptop?

Is there any way of transferring recordings from my BT Youview box to my laptop?
I was going to remove the drive to access it, but what with Linux partitions, exotic formats and encryption, this route would take too long for me get my head around, as I need the recordings pretty soon. Time is really the constraint, not lack of brain power!
Are there any VHS-to-USB-style grabbers, but with HDMI? Record onto a flash-drive device and move it over to my laptop, once finished, if that's how they work?
Alternatively, could I simply plug the box in to my laptop HDMI, play the programme and record it somehow?
The box was installed in Feb, 2015 and I think it's based on a Humax DTR-T1000 or 2000. One of these Humax PVRs at any rate: DTR-T1000/1010/2000/2100/2110/4000 (YouView) PVRs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Piracy would refer to the selling or letting for hire, offering or exposing for sale or hire or communicating a copyrighted production to the public, without permission. I'm not an expert, but no-one would be prosecuted for offering me some help. Piracy is the illegal act, not giving advice. I'm sure this is how the law is practised.
I simply wish to transfer some episodes of Grand Designs to my brother, who's renovating a house. I cannot give him my Youview box and he cannot visit me to watch them.0 -
While I'm sure you've checked the current series is online.

Not old episodes, from More 4. Besides, they won't always be available.0
