hi thanks for your message, my solicitor said the same kind of thing to me today actually but its good to hear from someone else, the problem is that the buyers have said that they want to take us to court, ( not sure if this i just flexing their muscles and seeing how far they can push us) my solicitor said that it would be up to them to prove that we had notification of an appeal, and if they have the luck that i did trying to get hold of someone from planning (took me 1hr and 45 mins to get hold of someone only to be told that they would call me back no phone call at all today!
i guess i will have to wait and see, my solicitor is in court for a couple of days so will write to them in a couple of days and i guess i will have to wait with baited breath to see what there next move is. arrrgh it never goes right for us.Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0 -
The proposed block of flats wouldn't be obscuring a Sea View per chance?
If I were the buyers I would be annoyed you failed to mention this. They may not be able to prove anything but come on, you pulled a fast one didn't you?0 -

no sea view i'm afraid, your not my buyer are you? i can honestly say hand on heart that no i didn't pull a fast one or try to to, i was involved with the objection to the planning and as i say it was withdrawn and then rejected, as far as i was aware it was over, the developer moved on due to the amount of objection and work he would have to do just o get there permission and also because there are now tennants in the house, i suppose there are some people that will think like you, but i cant prove either way i guess.Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0 -

Just ignore this, stolt. How is the above supposed to be helpful?0 -

Helpful or not, one persons gain is another persons loss. If Stolt was trying to rip somebody off it shouldn't be taboo to mention it. How would you feel in the same situation?
Stolt, the sea view comment was regarding a recent thread from someone who had bought a house with a sea view without knowing that permission had been given for a block of flats to be built in front of it. They were planning on suing the vendor who had not admitted to this when asked on the form.
If as you say you thought it was done and dusted and honestly knew nothing about the appeal then please accept my apologies.0 -

hello, thanks for the the apology, and accepted, unusual to get a apology on here but least it shows that you are man enough (if you are a man!!) to offer an apology.
anyway back to topic, still waiting for my solicitor to get back to me on this, but still niggling away in the back of my head, part of me is annoyed that they think we could have done this to them, after all we got on really well, i went back when they phoned about the pond and helped clean it out for the guy (hes around 70-75) and he dropped a plant in there and was worried he will kill the fish, i went back round there and showed them the burglar alarm even thougg i have already done them a what to do in the form of a MSwork sheet of everything from the stopcock to the water meter and where it was, and now this.Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0 -
I can't believe you sold your house to oldies! Cool oldies!
Didn't quite escape the fact that everyone turns into a NIMBY as they get older.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

yeah i know when they stepped out there car i was looking out of the window and shouted out to the missus, ''why do the ea's keep sending OAP's round?" but they loved it, the old gal wanted a house that was easy to keep clean and all done decorating wise and were also downsizing.Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0 -
