I am in a catch 22 position, cannot afford to not do anything as it is just sat on my drive and is unusable, but everything I read is not giving me much hope on a result in our favour.

The company was called Platinum Catering Trailers and he runs another business too called Devonshire Gourmet Salts who I have bought stuff from for 6 years.

    Many thanks Louise x

Can you not find someone local who could repair the trailer?
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

Maybe but it would need a whole new chasis and welding, a sand down as only half painted and the other half has paint runs in it aswell as brush marks, then a respray, new serving hatch as the other isn't safe - so a good few more thousand which we can't afford really and I am loathed to do as then what was the point in ordering this one. If it comes to it and I have no joy in getting my money back and returning the eye sore then it is something I will have to think about as just cut my losses x:(

Not so if the company was A N Other Trading as XYZ Trailers ... the person A N Other was a sole trader and is the liable party. It seems OP has a judgment against A N Other and therefore can enforce against that person - that person's personal assets can be seized in respect of payment of the judgment.

Whilst OP doesn't indicate the value of the judgment, given the nature of the goods then it is probable that the judgment value falls within the scope of High Court Enforcement.
A N Other "trading as" is a sole trader or partnership.

With company I was assuming a LTD status but now after reading the OP again I see they did mention they did do a search for the company on Companies House, so my mistake.

This would be good news as it make the person personally liable. This gives the Bailiffs something to go after.

£5K is not that expensive for a catering trailer, so it may be worth investigating getting this one repaired if you're unable to get your money back
