Nationwide Flexplus phone claim

I bought a Samsung phone Jan 2016.

It was immaculate till I gave it to my teenage son who within weeks dropped it and cracked the front corner. I've had Flexplus for several years and never needed to make a claim for anything before. If I contact Flexplus to make a claim will I have to declare it on my next house insurance renewal?

Your policy wording will tell you what changes (if any) you need to disclose to your insurer prior to renewal (different companies have different requirements)

Hi, I've made several phone claims via Flexplus (perils of having 2 teenagers) and never disclosed them.

Got me thinking if I should, but my claims have mostly been loss or damage outside the home, so wouldn't have claimed on my home insurance anyway.

Hope the claim website has improved (the insurance provider changes from 22nd I think) as it was so flippin slow!

I claimed and did not declare. Maybe you should ask your insurer ............. if you dare?

Whether or not you *would* have claimed may be immaterial - if your insurer asks about any losses for the past x years then it would need declaring.

I thought the home insurance questionnaire will ask on the lines of

'have you made a claim on your house insurance in the last 5 years?'
