New Build time line with taylor wimpey and completion!

Hi all
Just wanted to see what your experiences were with new build by Taylor Wimpey.
I am in a chain to buy a house where the sellers are buying a new build 4 bed from Taylor Wimpey.
I offered in April, Accepted in May and Exchanged on 4th August. The new Build was to be ready august/September time, so approx. 5 months to build the house.
We are approaching end of sep and I went to view the new build from outside as much as I can see and the roof is up, windows are in, looks like rendering is left to do outside and the front garden needs to be neaten. I could not see what's been done inside, but can see there's still scaffolding - so looks like nowhere near completion of the build!
I am getting fed up of waiting and waiting. My solicitors wont follow it up, the estate agent wont follow it up and states to go to the solicitors who are absolutely rubbish!
Completion on notice makes me have no control of when I will get the keys!

I just want to know people who have purchased taylor wimpey homes, how long have they had to wait for the house to be built and anyone can guess at what stage this house is at if the roof is done, windows in but scaffolding still up,

Thanks for your help.
