When you use 18185, you pay BT nothing.
Using 18185 to call a UK 01/02/03 number, you pay 5p for a call of any duration.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Thanks guys, feel better knowing that.

Yes, BT made a grand announcement that, from 1-8-07, they were abolishing their minimum call charge (which, at the time, was 5½p) and, at the same time, announced they were introducing a 'Call Set-Up fee (for chargeable calls) of 6p.atticgirl2003 wrote: »Thanks guys, feel better knowing that.

It doesn't apply to their 4½p for up to an hour evening and weekend UK 01/02/03 calls - but, of course, hardly anyone on here pays anything for such calls anyway.
