Although, I am confused as the MSE article says it's only available for those with credit meters and on the E.on website it states
E.on :-
https://www.eonenergy.com/for-your-home/products-and-services/cinema-bundle-fixed-1-year
MSE :-
Is a credit meter not a prepayment or Smart Pay as you go meter?
Conflicting information, there?
At any rate, you're better than 'gimmicks' like that, E.on?
Morning fredandwilma and sorry you don't like our new Cinema Bundle tariff.
Andrew's article for MSE is right. This tariff is available to dual fuel or electricity only residential customers with credit meters. It's not available to customers with Prepayment and Smart Pay As You Go meters.
Prepayment and Smart Pay As You Go customers buy energy in advance and top up their meters using payment devices like cards or keys. As such, they don't build up credit balances.
Totally understand, this tariff will be of limited appeal. As Andrew says, to benefit, customers really need to be film buffs and go to the cinema regularly. As well as fixing prices for 1 year, customers signing up to the tariff receive two free cinema ticket vouchers each month for the duration of the contract. These can be used at either Odeon or Vue Cinemas every month for 12 months or for the duration of the tariff in cases of early termination. There are exit fees of £25 per fuel for changing supplier outside of the renewal window. Full details are on our website.
Hope this explains fredandwilma.

Spot on fredandwilma. It's your choice how much information you share with us. For example, with smart meters, you can share monthly, daily or half hourly readings. As you say, customers with smart meters can change the frequency we collect readings through their online accounts.

Cinema Tickets?
What a stupid gimmick.
Surely Eon can think of something better than that!0 -
Before I left E.ON earlier this year, I had mine set to 15 minute readings, when I called to discuss a quote to remain, the CSA told me she'd have send a pull request to the meter if I wanted the quote to use the latest figures. She told me that changing the frequency only affects how often the meter logs the reading, but the figures are still only actually transmitted once a month (unless manually requested)
Is that still the case?
Hello Raxiel and, yes, this is still the case. Our advisor would've been looking to download a reading at a particular time so as to give you an accurate quote. Not all advisors have this access and sometimes they might need to pop customers on hold whilst they go through to an area that has access. This would be to our Smart teams.Ooof, neither am I! £20 a month extra for 'medium' consumption in my region? If you have time to go to the cinema every month, it probably makes more sense to get a season ticket. Still, there may be some people in some regions who like it.

Take your point POPPYOSCAR and thanks for commenting. As above, I don't expect this tariff to do anything for most MSE users. Different customers, though, look for different things and you would be surprised at the sort of requests we receive as our old Rewards scheme showed.
I've started feeding back reactions to our latest offers to the tariff people here at E.ON and have included your comments. It helps give a rounder picture so thank you again for taking the time to post.
