Mr Rick Poplawski

Does anybody know if it is illegal not to display an insurance policy number on a car insurance document and if so what recourse would I have.

If you are concerned, would it not be best to contact the insurer and point out their omission?

What recourse are you looking for? Are you out of pocket because of this?

Is this a question about insurance in the UK, or elsewhere?

It seems an odd question for the UK because our certificates have policy numbers on them, but there is no legal requirement to display the certificate or anything else...

    Is it illegal? No

What recourse do you have? You can whinge about it, or take your business elsewhere?

It's more of a feedback issue than a complaint by the sound of it. The most inconvenience I can see is having to look in your emails for the policy ref, or at worst, call your insurer.

I'll give you the £1.50 max for the phone call myself if you're that desperate.
