Directly? Completely unaffected.
If it was the other way around, there could be knock-on effects.
However, if your data was stolen from Equifax, using ClearScore doesn't affect that. Equifax are still the ones who would need to deal with this and should contact you to let you know.

Here is the email that Clearscore sent:Many of you will have read over the past week about the Equifax US hacking incident. I want to reassure you that ClearScore is not involved in this hack. Our systems and data remain secure.
Equifax have confirmed to us that no UK financial data was compromised in this incident.
However this incident does remind us all that we all need to take sensible steps to protect our information and identity.
Firstly, that starts with passwords - they should be different for every service you use and complicated. Password managers can be very useful to stay on top of your passwords.
Next, it's always wise to keep an eye on your mail. We see an increasing amount of mail fraud. It's a good idea to go paperless on key statements such as bank accounts and to keep an eye on whether the mail you are expecting is getting delivered.
Lastly, keeping an eye on your credit report and any applications for credit in your name can be a good way to see whether your identity is being used by a fraudster. On your ClearScore you can see this under Credit application searches, but we also recommend you check your Experian and CallCredit credit reports too.
Even though this Equifax US hack didn't affect ClearScore, I know that all this can seem scary. But by taking sensible steps you can better protect yourself and your identity.

Only slightly disappointed that ClearScore don't seem to have sent me that message.

Whilst clear score themselves were not breached, they do use Equifax for their data. From the start Equifax said there was about 700,00 UK customers affected however clear score remained confident that there was no impact. If you go back to clear score's site now, they have updated their blog to say that UK customer could have been affected: clearscore.com/blog/information-for-clearscore-customers-equifax-data-breach or search google for clear score uk data breach0
