I am not sure quite how to put this.
Over the last few weeks you have totally changed how you think about money but.... Do you think you may be over-thinking? It sounds as though you are second guessing yourself all the time.
You have got the present at a good price but now you are giving yourself a hard time over not getting an even better deal. So next time you will remember.
So my advice would be, be pleased that you have got the present your little one wanted.
I am not saying this as a criticism. Sometimes we over-focus on our failures not our successes.
I am doing something similar this week. I have not updated my spends spreadsheet for a week and it seems I have forgotten how to spend mindfully. I am really cross with myself about this. I haven't been too well this week and just getting through has been enough to deal with. No recording spends, no housework or garden sort but at least we have had home cooked food. I am trying to tell myself that some weeks you just have to take any win.
Have a good week

You make a great point, I'm like this in everything if I'm completely honest, I overthink everything, feel like I'm not good enough/doing enough, I do criticise myself far too much and blame myself for things going wrong. This is something I've struggled with my whole life and I genuinely have no idea how to move past it. I think I will be working on this area for a long time to come and it won't be quite as easy as debt busting.Change the way you see things and the things you see will change0 -
You can use the voucher for other things. Sometimes it doesn't go as planned as our thoughts think, but works out better xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x0 -
I think we would make a fortune if we could come up with a way of dealing with this, don't you?
Thank you for taking my comments in the way I intended. I have no wish to upset you but that devil on your shoulder is shouting awful things in your ear.
How is your list of pleasures coming on? That voucher perhaps could be used to get yourselves something?
Take care

^^ I like that idea.
I am looking at a self journal on amazon at the minute. it's £28, but I really think it will be worth it as it has self belief quotes, and plotting for future goals.
I'm surprised i haven't just splurged on one yet, but I am being really good and hoping that I get some birthday money, or it s as present as I sent the link to hubby to say this would be a good present.

Thank you Pauline, I would not take your comments any other way, you have been extremely helpful to me and I always look forward to reading any comments that you write. I am here for complete honesty and I much prefer the straight, open and honest approach to give me a kick. I think ultimately you have pointed out my biggest issue at the moment. Being completely honest I haven't really worked on a list of pleasures, I make sure that I give myself a little bit of time each week but thats as far as it goes really. I will see how I get on over the next couple of weeks with my finances and if I'm doing ok then I will use the voucher to treat myself, if not then the money I will get from my dad for Christmas will be used as a treat for me.
Thank you again, I always find your words seem to fit exactly how I'm feeling at that moment.Change the way you see things and the things you see will change0 -

If you don't get it with birthday money you could always do it as a little reward for staying out of your overdraft for the next month, say if you have £28 left at the end of the month then that is your reward, its amazing how much rewards can help us hit our goals, also most of the surveys offer amazon vouchers so if you have some time on your hands then you could invest some time into that and use them as money towards your journal.
I find I buy these things with good intentions but I don't always stick with them, this thought alone can stop me from splurging, if on the other hand I knew I would use it and it would really help then I would treat myself when the time was right.Change the way you see things and the things you see will change0 -
Earned myself 67 swagbucks from my purchase of DS' present, almost up to £30 on PA so the MOT is getting closer to being sorted. The other presents I ordered have arrived today which now leaves me with 8 presents to buy although this will potentially come down to 5 after I have spoken to a couple of people about not buying for each other this year. Currently for the 8 my previous Christmas budget is telling me I need £105, cutting out these three people would bring this down to £65 which my amazon vouchers will easily cover.
Excited for half term next week, really missing DS now hes at school full time, I just need to find lots of free things to do with him, we do have disney on ice around half term so that will be a big treat for him which is already paid for and I have some vouchers for lunch so will only need to spend a small amount. I have been told though that everyone dresses up and that I should be buying DS an outfit otherwise he might feel left out.Change the way you see things and the things you see will change0 -
You go with what you want. I'm pretty sure he won't need an outfit. They'll be people there without one on.
That'd be great if you only had to use the amazon vouchers.
I've got a better idea about the self belief journal. I think I might make my own. x

Ooh I like that idea, you can lay it out exactly how you want to that way and put in quotes that you really love.Change the way you see things and the things you see will change0
