Help our alarm has started going off today about every 10 mins goes for a short while and stops.Any ideas it has been raining quita abit but dont think that prob has anything to do with it.Do you think it needs a trip to the garage, more expensive as just had to get washing machine fixed yesterday .

Hi Wendy - first check there is nothing moving around inside setting off the alarm eg a fly or something. Secondly if the car battery is low this can set the alarm off - so it might be worth getting your battery checked - i think kwik fit will do a battery health check for free - but double check this first! Or you can put it on to charge for a couple of hours and then see if the alarm problem persists.
If in the mean time you want to shut it up then you can either leave it unlocked, lock with key as opposed to locking on the remote fob (if you have one) - locking with key will generally just lock the car and not set the alarm depending on model and alarm.
Hope this is of some help.0 -
Check the windows are all fully closed - my Galaxy has a habit of setting the alarm off if one of the windows is not quite closed - have no idea why!

You may find that one of the door switches is going faulty. A problem we had with a Seat Toledo at work. VAG stuff were prone to havin duff door switches.
If you look on the drivers B post you will see a button that de-activates the interior alarm sensors.
Tho I'd go with a weak battery 1st...0 -
Common problem on the Shalaxy.
Mine used to do it quite often when it rained hard or I pressure washed it. It probably still does now, but someone else has got the problem now

VAG had problems with alarms going off for no reason or when raining. One thing you can do is disconnect one plug/sensor at a time and see if the alarm goes off. That way you can locate the duff switch.
Also make sure there is nothing metallic inside the car. It has been known that coins with their reflective surface can trigger off sensors.Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problemsWell at least i learn something on the way

try closing your air vents as the wind can sometimes set them off, and another thing to check is to make sure their is no water under your passenger seat where the control unit is .0

Or you haven't locked any kids in there by mistake...0
