New boiler advice

HI there
can anyone recommend the best boiler for a 3 story 4 bed terraced house?? Current boiler is in utility room ( Ideal) but has had it and it needs replacing. I can only afford approx £1000 including fitting costs so obviously its not going be the most lavish but a decent budget one which will last me for a few years at least!

Thanks for any replies :j

Unfortunately the most reliable gas boiler brands are the most expensive but you save on repairs.
    1. Worcester Bosch
    2. Viessmann
    3. Vaillant

    according to this month's "Which?".

Prob best to wrap your fish & chips in which boiler recommends

OP you will be lucky to get a boiler replacement for £1k & if that's all you have then you might need to look at pay monthly schemes
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.
  • I have had a look online and there are a few for 600-700£ as long as it will see me through a few years as its all I can realistically afford
  • Even if you pick the boiler up for 600 I would be very surprised if you get it fitted by a gas safe engineer for 400 including any other consumable items required such as copper, fittings, thermostats etc. This is assuming your going like for like, combi for combi or heat only for heat only.

I presume it's a gas boiler you are looking for?

DD2 chose a Baxi as it had a 6 (?) warranty - maybe others have similar?

We had a Vailant at a property we just sold - it wasn't at all reliable!

why does the current boiler need replacing?
As said you will find it hard to get a new boiler fully installed for £1000
If the current boiler is still operational i would hangon to it for a while longer and save the extra to get a good quality make, like the ones mentioned above for example you would be luck to find a Worcester bosch for much less than 1000 for just the boiler , that will last you more than just a few years. Alot of time it can be luck cheap or expensive you could get many hassle free years from a boiler or you could have no end of trouble. Of course going for one with a record of good quality can help
