High gas user - best tariff?
Options
Hi all,
Would appreciate some help please:
My current dual fuel deal is coming to an end with E.On (saver plus fixed 1 year v1) and the renewal or best tariff they can offer me is the go online 1 year v1, but it is £821 a year more expensive than my current deal!! (The last years duel fuel bill cost is £1886, new cheapest deal being offered is £2,707).
We are high gas users as we have a 5 bedroom house with an aga and so the current deal suited us as even though it had high standing charges (54.8p per day for gas and 33.422p per day for elec) the unit rate was lower (1.785p per kwh for gas and 8.484p per kwh for elec).
Does anyone know of any tariffs that may work for us? Even the best dual fuel from the cheap energy club is £500 more (based on a 'reliable' provider (affect) on a fixed year tariff).
Thanks
Garry

The days of silly low energy prices have gone. The comparison sites will give you everything you need to know - use more than one as not all suppliers are on all sites. Don't just look at dual fuel, make sure you look at separate suppliers.0

Thanks Molerat, yes tried that, still cant get it below £500 increase unfortunately.
Just wondered if i am such a high user (52,314 kwh a year) whether there was a commercial tariff or something that businesses and companies use, but suppose that would mean my house would have to be classified as an office or similar!0 -

I wouldn't go there even if you could: business energy is VAT rated at 20%. I have to say that your gas usage is extraordinary - even with an Aga. I live in a 5 bed property and my gas usage is c.10000kWhs year. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
