Fixing to double glazing

My bathroom window is over the sink.
I've fixed a lightweight mirror to the double glazing vertical bar with glue but I need a bigger heavier mirror.

Can I screw into the double glazing plastic.
If not what's the best glue to use or is there another fixing method?
It's your money. Except if it's the governments.

Thanks, it's an idea but wouldn't work for me as the vertical double glazing bar comes right down the middle of where I'd want the middle of the mirror to be.

  • Yes you can screw into plastic. I installed this way blinds in all rooms. There are still hanging after few months :) I used impact screwdriver for the job.

Impact screwdriver seems a bit overkill.
I was thinking of using small self tapping screws and hand held driver.

Can you not get one of those mirrors that comes out on an extending arm and fix it to a wall ?

    Ta.
Yes that's a possibility but it's at the back of the queue.

Do you need to have the mirror over the sink? Can't have it over the toilet or another wall?
I had a bathroom cabinet over the toilet with a mirrored door, solved the storage and mirror solution in one.....

When standing at the sink if I turn to my immediate right there is a mirrored cabinet 18 inches from my nose.
But then the light from the bathroom window is on one side of my face only.

When you say "double glazing vertical bar", do you mean that you have a two pane window with a structural vertical between the two? You might not want to screw anything into a surface-mounted, purely-cosmetic, glazing bar - especially with an impact driver!
