Please help! Got Lidl ticket after holiday

Options
Hi guys, just back from holiday to find a Athena ticket from my local Lidl a month ago for 16 mins overstay. Searched the forum, still a bit confused, what best to do in this case? Shall I appeal or too late to?

Many thanks in advance.

  • Hi just realised, I can't add links of photos as a new member. What can I do to add photos?

Basically, the ticket to keeper was issued on 15/8/2017, 3 days after the overstay. I got this yesterday after back home. No receipt I think, but I am sure can find bank statement for Lidl purchase for that day.
  • Did you read the newbie thread?
Likely too late for an appeal, however sending one anyway shows you are engaged

You also do what everyone does, you complain to LIDL.

If you want to post pics you break the URL so it isnt real, for example changing where it says "http" to say "hxxp". We can then fix it for you.
  • Many thanks, pls see the photos.

  • I did read the newbie thread. Is there any updated version draft for appeal? or I can just use the previous ones?

I expect it's too late to appeal to Athena (21 days) but send one off to them anyway, to show you have engaged in their process.

But your best way to get rid of this is to write to the CEO - Christian Haertnagel (note precise spelling) - with plenty of evidence of loyal patronage, including copies of previous receipts/bank/cc statements, including receipt(s) for the day of the parking event.

Do a forum search ('show posts', not the default 'show threads') on 'Lidl Haertnagel' to read how many others have been successful with a simple email to the CEO. His email address will be found in most of those posts/threads.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

But it's not the 'appeal' that gets Lidl Athena PCNs cancelled.

This is made clear in the very first link in the NEWBIES thread, where recent posts in the 'Successful Complaints' first link there, give you the CEO's email:
You also do what everyone does, you complain to LIDL.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Thank you guys, I just got a reply from Lidl. Please help with next step?

    Re: Parking Charge
Thank you for contacting our C.E.O. It has been requested, that I respond on his behalf.
The most efficient way to appeal your parking charge is to do so with the Car Park Management company direct. Details of how to do this will be on the parking charge notice you have received. If you still wish for us to do this on your behalf, we kindly request the following:
