Am hoping for some advice as to what to do please.

am buying my car with the option to either make the balloon payment and keep the car, have another new car or walk away at the end of the agreement.

My friend reversed into my car last night and damaged the passenger door, dented and scratched.

She has asked if I want to sort it privately or go through the insurance. As it is technically not my car can anyone advise me as to what I should do. I am gutted that my insurance will now increase.

Thanks in advance.

I thought your meant to tell your insurer regardless if you want to claim or not?

Your policy conditions will most likely require your insurers are notified of the issue.

Dont forget on some PCP schemes the finance company will expect a high standard of repair so if its done on the cheap between friends they may pick it up when the contract comes to an end.
