Bought a car with no service book - what should I do?

Excuse my nativity. I purchased my first car 5 years ago (Ford) and took out a service plan. Ford would call me every time the car was due for a service or MOT. Recently, I called Ford as I noticed I was not called for my service and was told that the MOT had expired. Long story short, I finally found out that I need a service book in order to track my service and MOT.
How do I go about getting one?

Ask Ford for one.
Alternatively, a recent invention called a 'calendar' is another option.0 -
If your services have all been at a Ford garage they should have an electronic record of them. I would ask about getting a service book from them and having it stamped up according.
I think some manufacturers now work only on electronic records.0 -

There should be a electronic service for it that you can get the print out, simply obtain this purchase a new blank service book and ask the dealer nicely to complete the book (ensure you keep the print as proof)0

Thanks all. Will the service book also let you know when your car needs servicing?0

On my saxo a spanner appears on the dash.0

Just get it serviced and start keeping track yourself, assume nothing has ever been done to the car.
Service books can be bought online, as can dealership stamps, so I don't trust any car that claims to have FSH.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Have you checked the service plan documentation, the one that was sent through giving a payment schedule that should give the approximate mileage and date for your services?
BTW, and I'll stand to be corrected, but I understood that Ford UK doesn't have a central electronic service record system, but that records are maintained by the individual dealers.0 -
If the car doesn't tell you it needs servicing the manual will. There are usually specified mileage and/or age intervals for certain jobs like oil changes et al.
You can now sign up for MOT reminders too via the gov.uk website: https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/0
