Damaged uPVC front door threshold - what to do?

Short version of a long story:

The threshold of our uPVC front door has a chunk broken out of it. It has been glued twice but the piece has now fallen out again. The company that fitted the door suggested an aluminium threshold strip that you can clip and/or screw over the existing threshold to provide added strength - and in this case cover the chunk that is missing -but does not supply or fit them. I have enquired with a couple of other uPVC comanies and they either cannot help - or are not interested.

Does anyone have any ideas either where we can buy such a strip - or what else we can do?

We had the same problem (though it was brown/woodgrain finish) - the fitting company glued an extra piece of upvc across the whole length of the threshold - cut the ends to match so you cannot see any difference & it's lasted 3 years so far. I think it was the same stuff they used around the inner edges of windows/doors - about 2cm wide. I'd post a piccy if I knew how.
