Hi I have just been awarded a successful section 75 claim by my credit card company, this is a large amount almost £10,000. it was for substandard home improvements. my question is can we go ahead and make the repairs or is there a chance it can be appealed or can we be counter sued by the company?
thanks
thanks

Section 75 involves the credit card company paying out, not the supplier. You can get on with your repairs.
It would be different with a chargeback.0 -
No, it's all done and dusted as far as you're concerned. Barclaycard have fulfilled their obligation under S75 to you - if they now wish to pursue the supplier to get their money back, that's down to them. But it's nothing to do with you.0

thanks so much really would like to get the work done before the depths of winter. So relived that we had been covered. the credit card company handled our claim very fast. have read online stories of retailers counter suing the purchaser once the credit card company pursue them or maybe this is just nonsense.0

As ZX81 says, a Chargeback is a different matter. But S75 is a legal requirement - the card company is obliged to reimburse you for faulty goods etc. If the card company have accepted the S75 claim then that's the end of the matter as far as you're concerned. Any further argument is between the card company and the supplier. Obviously, it's quite likely that, for a sum of this size, the card company will be pursuing the supplier. And let's face it, Barclaycard will have a team of legal people - the likes of which you or I could never afford - to help "persuade" the supplier to repay them :rotfl:0
