I have thanked Helena within the relevant thread but I wanted to extend that thanks outside of it.
I have been with Eon a number of years and, whilst their tariff is not always the cheapest, I truly think the help and guidance provided by Helena and Malc justifies staying with them.
The true measure of any company is how customers questions or issues are handled and these guys have assisted me on a number of occasions with unfailingly promptness and a cheerful manner.

No.
Certainly not right away at least. Morning Pars Al and welcome to the Forums.
As Raxiel says, at the moment, you'll lose some of the smart features if you change supplier. This includes the ability to send readings remotely and will mean the meter will need to be read manually.
Being able to change supplier without losing smart capability is something the industry is working to sort. A centralised database looked after by the Data Communications Company (DCC) is being set up to look after the Smart network for all suppliers. The aim is for customers to be able to switch supplier without losing the smart features of their meters. Not sure when it'll be fully up and running all over the country though.
