Still waiting for a gas check

I have waited twice for the gasman which has been hired by my housing association (Sanctuary) to turn up because they want to to do a boiler check, but they never turn up. I'm fed up of waiting now and probably get a letter threatening me with court action. I'm disabled and have never been in a court before.

Someone mentioned compensation, is this for private home owners only? Thanks.

Hi. You need to speak to your Housing Association Manager. I assume that you are talking about a gas safety check? These checks are carried out by registered Gas Safe engineers not energy suppliers. There is absolutely no reason for you to worry about Court Action. It is your Housing Association that should be worried as an annual gas safety check is a legal requirement for all let properties.

Stay away from them if you can. Horrible places.

If you can't, don't forget your toothbrush!

Best advice my brief ever gave me was to plead guilty at the earliest opportunity. Doing so knocks 1/3rd off your sentence. :j

I rang up 15m after they should have arrived. Apparently they claimed they didn't know they had an appointment with me, even through the receptionist had logged it (or not) so they are going to ring me back to rescheduel it (probably not). A lot of the neighbours have complaints, one ladies back door is rotting, she has complained several times to deaf ears. Sanctuary are quick for their rent, but when it comes to repairs they are terrible. :mad:

Ask the HA about compensation for the missed appointments. At the very least it will highlight the gas engineers failures.

Ask them when your last one was done? If it is over a year ago, tell them you will go to the local rag. That should get them into gear. Either way, threaten them with the local rag. My Housing Association are just as bad.
