Unprofessional shop

Options
I bought a jacket online from a UK shop, seller firstly forgets to send a shipping confirmation. I contact the seller asking when they are going to ship, receive a message saying they shipped the package august 23rd and that I should allow for 9 days for the package to arrive in Denmark. September 11th the package still had not been delivered, I contact the seller again... they tell me they will look into it. After the last message I hear nothing from them. I paid via paypal and therefore I started a dispute, given the fact that I had not received the item. Now, september the 19th the package suddenly arrives... from the barcode number I can see the package was in fact not sent out before september 15th. I already ordered a new jacket from a different better rated UK shop, and will therefore obviously return the jacket. But am I entitled to a full refund, shipping included (shipping was 9 £)?

If no timeframe is agreed then the seller has 30 days to deliver the goods. So unless there was a firm date then yes you need to pay return delivery.

They need to give you all your cancellation rights in writing and in the prescribed form or you have up to a year to cancel. But as we don't know the website or the terms they have given you, then so far they have delivered in 30 days so it's now down to you to cancel properly and return the goods.
  • I was under the impression that the timeframe was 9 days. Here's their response to my question about the missing shipping confirmation:
"Hi, your order was sent out on the 23rd for you. You should have received a message, sorry if you did not. We say to allow up to 9 working days, if it is still not with you by then, please let us know. Any issues, just give us a shout. Regards, Sam"

That's just the number of days the shop wanted you to allow before contacting them so that they could chase..

As already stated the legal timeframe is 30 days.

You'll have to pay return postage.
