Hi,

My British Gas Collective Oct 17 Tariff is about to end & I am currently paying 2.530 pence per kWh for gas and 8.610 pence per kWh for electricity. The "Best" new deal I can find is 2.863p per kWh for gas and 12.138p per kWh for electricity which works out nearly £500 per year increase! Are there any better deals around/coming? looking to switch to a no exit fee supplier maybe or is this just the way it is? massive increase!

Same sort of thing here. Would love a heads up on a cheap gas supplier, elec less so. Using the calculators here and on other sites seems to be at odds with cheap quotes and what they are actually charging per unit.

Sorry, I do not understand: what 'cheap quotes' are you talking about? Suppliers and PCWs show the same tariffs. The simple fact is that energy costs have risen over the past 12 months which is why people shouldn't just fix for a year and then forget to see how the market is changing.

OP - it looks like you are looking for a dual fuel supplier.

Try the comparison sites for different electric and gas suppliers.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

That was the route I took last year (Daligas and Robin Hood Energy ) and it looks like same again with separate suppliers in a months time .Its worked fine last year, both suppliers were OK with the best rates available at the time and low standing charges exit free.

Looks like Outfox the market is the only option to avoid a large hike!

There is no exit fee so at worst I could have a month of a bad experience but considering the cost of the alternatives I think it is worth a shot!

I know they have only launched 4 days ago (to coincide with the British Gas price hike) but has anyone got any thoughts on them?

The switch was easy, it will be interesting to see how it goes! :-)
