In general with affiliates, do you approach them yourself once your blog is up and running?

Yes, just search in Google 'company name' affiliate program.

I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that you can design t-shirts on CafePress and earn a certain % of the sales they make? However, now I can't seem to be able to find this option anywhere! I can only see their affiliate programme or designing t-shirts to sell on your own..

Or would you use their designer tool, save it as an image and then upload that image to sell in their marketplace?

I didn't think they sell the T-shirts for you. You need to sell them yourself. I'm not sure about the designer tool as I haven't used it, I've designed my own in Photoshop.

    October 2017 Summary: £503

October 2017 has been my first full month of trying to generate additional income, I only began in mid September.

Blog views: 1,029. This is double what I was expecting so I'm really happy with this result. Around a third of the views were from when I posted on Reddit.

Blog posts:9, total since starting 15

Twitter followers: 86. I'm very happy with how my followers have grown especially considering I've only been on Twitter from mid October.

Additional income: £503 all from matched betting.

I've realised that some of my posts have too many keyword and so are less likely to appear on Google search results, I didn't even realise this was a thing, thanks Jon for pointing this out to me.

    November goals:

    Income £400 from matched betting.
    1,000 total blog views.
    Increase Twitter followers to 150.
    Sign up to Pinterest
Get two weeks ahead on my blog posts.
Upload T-shirt designs on to CafePress and generally figure out how the site works.

My main goal for November is to work on the content of my blog. The number of views and social media following will be secondary. I think I need a couple of month of content under my belt before I start receiving any meaningful views and followers. In regards to selling T-shirts, I intend to do this as cheaply as possible. I don't really want to spend money on advertising as it may not amount to anything. First, I'm going to try getting other to use affiliate links to sell my T-shirts, this is why I have chosen CafePress as they make it easy to sell in this way. If this doesn't work I may then consider paying for adverts.

I noticed today that one of my older posts is my most viewed post over the last few days. I thought it was weird since I haven't been promoting it. Turns out it features on the first page of Google for certain keywords! I am absolutely thrilled by this! Now I just need to figure out what I did right with this post and do the same for the rest of them.

My first affiliate link sale through my blog this week, this is exciting. Only 46p, haha! But I've got to start somewhere right?
