Ovo Energy

Having just opted to move from British Gas to Ovo Energy, I have checked my credit report and found that my credit rating has reduced because Ovo Energy did a HARD search of my file.
I had been anticipating my score to rise due to good reduction of outstanding credit and had anticipated being able to apply for my re-mortgage. The reduction did raise my score level but the fact that I had supposedly applied for major credit with Ovo reduced it to worse than before I reduced the outstanding to below 50% as advised that I should. I had spent months waiting for the points to be gained only for this credit search to reduce them to worse than before.
Can't win! I was not aware the company would do a hard search of my account as though I wanted a 20k loan from them. Not happy!
Any advice on how to change the score quickly by speaking with Experian would be welcome of course.
Best Regards
Debbie

Won't make a blind bit of difference. The only way a mortgage provider would have an ussue would be if you were late or missed payments, you haven't, but have you demonstrated great fiscal responsibility by shopping around for the best deal.0
