Know your customer/ proof of ID query - banks

When a bank or other financial institution wants to check your ID, if you provide paper documentation as proof of ID/address (such as your passport, a statement from a different bank account etc) should this be enough or do they need to check things electronically as well? I ask this as I am currently away travelling at the moment, and am getting all my bank statements / mobile phone statement etc sent to my parents' address while away. However I am not on the electoral roll there. So was just wondering if I would be likely to fail any electronic ID check carried out for not being on the electoral roll ? (even though have 3 bank accounts, 1 credit card and 1 mobile phone which would appear on any checks they carry out). Or would this not even be an issue as I would have already supplied proof of ID in paper format, so therefore no electronic checks would need to be carried out?

I'm not applying for any credit or anything - it's just my ID has to be checked as a power of attorney for a relative's bank account.

Hope someone can help.
