    Know what camera?
  • Most cameras use an SD card. Some newer cameras use Micro SD cards.

Make sure you know which one to get. Find out what camera she's got and we can help. You are *probably* safe to buy an SD rather than micro.

    I recently bought this 32GB SD card - https://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-Ultra-Memory-Frustration-Packaging/dp/B014IX0202/

It's fast, its a good brand and well priced. The jump from 16GB to 32GB isn't much in price, but 32 to 64 is.

32GB will also hold a LOT of photos. On a 20mp camera, that would be around 4000 JPEG photos.

Get two cards 16GB each, your looking at around £10 each for decent high speed SD cards. I use Sandisk Ultra and I ONLY buy from a reliable retailer (MyMemory), so I know i'm not getting fakes.

    https://www.mymemory.co.uk/sandisk-16gb-ultra-sd-card-sdhc-80mb-s.html

Even buying on Amazon is risky and highstreet retailers will charge double if not triple the price for an inferior card.

The reason I say two is because you haven't lived until you've almost lost 600 photos as an SD card became corrupted.
Do a days photography, swap cards, do another day, backup the first card and swap cards again, etc etc.

There's a good chance she won't need the extra speed of a 90mbs card if she's shooting photos. If she's shooting video that would be more relevant.

I can shoot 4k video and take RAW photos on a 80MB/s card so I think she'd be fine with it.

Amazon is only risky if you buy from 3rd parties - If you are buying directly from Amazon you should be fine.

    I guess a couple of 16GB cards would be still only £15 - https://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-Ultra-Memory-Frustration-Packaging/dp/B014IX02KC/?th=1

If you are buying directly from Amazon you should be fine.

That is very true, although Amazon did have an issue with fake SD cards getting into their supply chain some years ago. The real problem is that due to how the site works, sometimes you follow a link to a product sold by Amazon, but when you select options in the drop down menus it can switch suppliers from Amazon to someone else and you don't notice because you don't expect that to happen.
